“Hello, my name is Saday and I want to tell you about my experience with the Doula service offered by Laura Dehne from Soothing Presence Birth Services. Laura was a godsend! I call her my angel because of the strong way we connected from the first time. Let me tell you a little bit about my story: my pregnancy was going great until I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and by that time, I did not have Laura's support, only my primary doctor and a nurse who was the one who made Laura to contact me. My pregnancy was almost in the final stretch and my hopes that a Doula would contact me were pretty low. I was a little scared because I was thinking that I was going to be a first-time mother without any support other than my husband’s at the hospital! But my life changed, I received a call from Laura a few days later and she agreed to provide me with her services even though I was very close to labor, which impressed me a lot. We planned our first appointment and from that moment I knew that she and I were destined to meet. She struck me as a very friendly, compassionate person, passionate about what she does, respectful, very loving and most importantly, very knowledgeable; She inspired my husband and me with great confidence and good vibes, so I agreed to hire her as my Doula. On our second appointment we practiced relaxation exercises and she gave me several brochures with detailed information about everything related to labor and childbirth which I thought was very good. I was able to contact her 24/7, which was useful because all the doubts I had, she was always there to clarify them. The day of my induction arrived. Laura was in charge of explaining the ENTIRE process to perfection, she decorated the room in a very relaxing way, which I did not expect. All the nurses who came into my room said that it was the most beautiful room and the one that smelled the best. Her support during contractions was excellent! She taught me breathing exercises and even did them together with me during each contraction, she gave me relaxing massages, she made me feel safe at all times, she said positive phrases, she held my hand, we cried together, she gave me encouragement . She made sure to accompany me to the bathroom, to open and close the doors, she made sure that there was nothing that could made me feel uncomfortable; she helped me get up and sit down whenever I needed it, overall, she worried and took care of me practically like if I was her daughter; I felt it that way. Thanks to her support I was able to bear so much pain without problems. The way she treats her mothers is so nice that I practically felt like my mom was the one who was there with me that day. My delivery had several complications and thanks to her I never felt alone, not even when I was in the operating room (I had a cesarean section) because I knew that she was praying for me and wishing that everything would go well. Truly, her presence was very gratifying for me. In conclusion: Laura is going to give you all the support you need, she is going to give you her friendship, she is going to make you feel special and loved. She will do ANYTHING as long as your birth experience is the most beautiful and positive even if you have complications like I did. She will completely change your life and your labor experience. I sincerely tell you that if I had not had the support of a Doula like Laura, my experience would have been quite traumatic and very painful, and that is why I consider this service to be essential! Laura earned my friendship and the affection of my family and mine forever. I am very grateful for meeting her and for having her in my life. I wouldn't be able to search for another Doula because I dare say that no one will treat me the way Laura treated me! Without a doubt I recommend 100% her services, you will not regret it!”
